Meet Your Founder: Rich Hill

Rich Hill believes in Magic

From performing his first public show at the age of 11, to designing and building his own magical effects and raising white doves for his magic, Rich lives in his own magical world.

Growing up in Fort Wayne, Indiana, he would frequent Stoner’s Magic and Fun Store, which became an influential place in his life.

Little did he know then that he would grow up to open a magic shop of his own.

Today, Rich Hill’s Magic and Fun Emporium is one of only 3 brick and mortar stores in the entire state of Indiana!

Dedicated to furthering the art of magic and illusion

Rich Hill’s Magic and Fun Emporium and his School of Magic were created with one thing at the forefront:  making magic accessible.

How do you become a magician?  The answer:  hang out with magicians!

But it’s not only the mechanics of illusion that make one a master of this art, it is mostly about how it is presented.  Magic is theatre!

Rich has mastered theatrical magic, the presentation in all its glory, the art of deception.

His training in acting and theatre have served him well, and his love of music and composition and experience in choral direction have all played a huge part in his magic career.

From Performer to Teacher to Coach

Between 1970 and the Present, Rich has performed magic all over the USA.

In the early 2000s, he taught magic and  coached one of his young students all the way to winning the International Brotherhood of Magicians’ Gold Cups award for excellence in Closeup magic, a very difficult award to achieve.

Rich wrote the act, and designed and built the magic for it. Under his direction, Rich’s student made history as the youngest person to ever win the award.

Rich Hill’s Illusionshop

As an illusion builder and designer, Rich founded Rich Hill’s Illusionshop in 1998 and his beautiful magic illusions can be found in magicians’ productions all over the world.

His crystal casket illusion has become a signature piece for illusionist Michael Barron.  Michael’s presentation of Rich’s creation is pure artistry in motion.
